As to NASA's primary mission of Space exploration being turned inward to one of it's supporting roles of Climate study is a sore spot on a great sense of pride for America. regardless of WHY, economy or small brain thinking aside. It sucks.
So you only want to spend my tax money as long as it goes to the part of NASA you like. Go to the Moon but do no research on Climate Study because it embarrasses you. But hey, you’re old and won’t live long enough to see the damage wrought on this planet by climate change, nor the benefits created by more accurate weather forecasting brought about by NASA studying how the Climate works on this planet.
